Book of the Week: Modern Lovers by Emma Straub

Hey y'all.

I've decided that I want to start a new blog series entitled "Book of the Week" aka "BOTW."  I listen to at least 2-3 audio books per week and would like to use this platform to share some of my favorites.  These won't necessarily be book reviews, instead they'll be really short summaries of books I've read.

I want to start the series off with one of the most enjoyable books I've listened to so far this year.

Modern Lovers by Emma Straub

Modern Lovers by Emma Straub is a novel that follows 2 Brooklyn couples who have stayed friends from college as they deal with various mid-life crises, and their 2 teenage kids who face their own teenage crises and angst.  The story is told in shifting perspectives which gives each character a level of depth and dimension that allows the reader to truly feel as if they know each person in the novel.

If you are looking for a fun, easy, light-hearted read, then you should definitely check out Modern Lovers.

***As a side note, I listen to all audio books through the Overdrive App which connects you directly to your local library's e-book/audio book collection.  Once you "check out" books from your library's online selection, the Overdrive App organizes them in a "bookshelf" similar to the one used in ibooks.***
