Sinful Colors Extra Shiny LipGloss

Sinful Colors Extra Shiny LipGloss

The Sinful Colors Extra Shiny LipGloss displays have popped up at my local Walgreens, and claim to have a "light-capturing formula" which "gives lips a light and smooth shine, alone or over lipstick."  I picked up the colors:
  • 225 Blushing
  • 2235 Sultry Flame

Sinful Colors Extra Shiny LipGloss

Both of these glosses applied Sheer, but buildable.  The texture is NOT too thick or sticky which is probably why they don't last that long on my lips.  I found that both of them only lasts about 1 to 2 hours at the most.

They do have a slight Vanilla scent, but it's really subtle so it shouldn't be a problem for most people. The glosses have a small doe foot applicator which helps provide smooth, even coverage, and I like that they provide a nice shine to my lips without looking wet.

Overall: These lip glosses are Okay. They are not the best lipglosses I've ever used, but they're pretty good for the price.  The colors are really soft and pretty, and can be built up to increase intensity.

Violent Lips Temporary Lip Tattoos

"I found these Violent Lips lip tattoos in Kylie’s room and Mario and I thought it would be fun to try out a new look! What do you guys think?!"

Earlier today, Kim Kardasian tweeted this photo of her wearing a Black and White Checker Pattern Temporary Lip Tattoo from Violent Lips. Honestly, when I first saw these I thought they looked a bit odd, and even when Kim tweeted the photo my reaction was still like Girl, What? But I must say, her lips definitely caught my attention.

While I'm NOT brave enough to rock a crazy pattern like Kim, there are some designs on the Violent Lips website that I would try out.  I particularly like the Glitteratti Collection, and who knows, I may even find myself purchasing the Leopard Lips from the Animal Prints collection because I REALLY like those too. (lol)

So let me know what you think of these Temporary Lip Tattoos.
Too over the top or would you wear them?

NOTW: Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

I first saw this nail polish on Dulce Candy and LOVED it, so when I noticed it at my local Target I decided to pick it up.  Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia is a nice MATURE glitter polish because it's dark, without looking goth, and it actually looks quite subtle on the nails.

This polish is a Black Jelly with Chunky Round Fuchsia Glitters.  The base is very Sheer which is perfect for layering.  Glitters are always a PAIN to get off, so I usually layer them on pretty thick so most of the polish becomes easy to peel off after a few days.  I achieved this look with 3 coats.

This polish is also a great DUPE for Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance which is $18!!!

Black Friday Haul

BLACK FRIDAY

I didn't really do a lot of shopping today for Black Friday, but I did manage to pick up 2 items from the Sephora sale which featured 10 select products for $10 EACH.

Kat Von D "Adora" Eau de Parfum and Korres Guava All Butter Moisture Therapy Duo

I picked up the Kat Von D "Adora" Eau de Parfum ($55 value) and Korres Guava All Butter Moisture Therapy Duo ($22 value).

Kat Von D "Adora" Eau de Parfum

I'm really happy about the Perfume purchase because I've been wanting to try it.  Adora has NOTES of Lychee, Boysenberry, Thyme, Cassis, Hyacinth, Jasmine, Mango Flesh, Patchouli, Sheer Musk, and Amber Wood.  It's a Complex and Dark fragrance, but the scent is still really Feminine and Pretty.

Korres Guava All Butter Moisture Therapy Duo

And I've never tried anything from Korres, so I figured this deal was a perfect opportunity to try out the products.  Here's what Sephora says about this duo:
Like all Korres Lip Butters, it is formulated with natural oils and extracts to soothe and condition lips. Sophisticated, fruity Guava Body Butter is enriched with shea butter and quince extract to soften, moisturize, and rejuvenate the skin. Sunflower, almond, and avocado oils nourish the skin, helping to improve elasticity and smoothness. Fig extract, rich in minerals and vitamins, revitalizes the appearance of skin while toning and rejuvenating. Both products contain key ingredient, guava, a rich source of vitamin C known for its antioxidant benefits.

Sephora by OPI "Caliente Coral"

Happy Thanksgiving!
Today I'm wearing Sephora by OPI "Caliente Coral" which is a Bold Orange-Red color, inspired by Havana.  This nail polish was released as part of the Havana Nights Summer Collection, but I think the color is deep enough to make it wearable during the Fall.

"Caliente Coral" is a Creme polish that goes on opaque and streak-free.  This look was achieved with 2 medium coats.

Daphne Guinness for MAC

Heiress and Artist Daphne Guinness has collaborated with MAC to launch a new Makeup Collection inspired by Daphne's dramatic fashion sense.  Daphne cites "pigeon's blood" and "how the intricate wings of a butterfly resemble the images of deepest space" as her inspirationBritish Vogue

This collection is really beautiful, the Borealis Creamsheen Glass and the Hyperion Nail Lacquer look really interesting to me. I can't wait to see them swatched.  MAC Ombre Blushes are also making a comeback in this collection, which I know a lot of people are happy about. I'll probably be purchasing the Blush in Vingate Grape.

The collection - including ombre blushes, nail lacquers and lip glosses in violet, lilac and pale blue will be released in North America on December 26, 2011 at all MAC locations and Online.

Thanksgiving Makeup Idea

Thanksgiving is only 2 days away and I've been thinking about different festive holiday makeup looks. I'll probably just keep it really simple this year, and use warm colors on my face like shades of Red and Orange.

Here's one Thanksgiving makeup idea:

EYES: I used Jordana's InColor Fabu Liner to line my upper lash line, and added a subtle POP of color to my lower lash line with a Milani Eyeshadow in "I Heart You" which is a Metallic Red color.

CHEEKS: I used MAC's Raizin on the apples of my cheeks, and Elf's "Gotta Glow" Blush (which is an almost perfect DUPE of Nars Albatross) to highlight my upper cheek bones.

MAC "Raizin" and  Elf "Gotta Glow"

LIPS: I used L'Oreal Infallible Lip Gloss in the color "Plumped Brown" which is a really pretty Coppery/Brown shade with slight Shimmer.  This is one of the best long-wear Lip Glosses I own, perfect for Thanksgiving.

Get the Look: Jennifer Hudson's AMA Red Carpet Makeup

Last night, Jennifer Hudson looked absolutely STUNNING on the American Music Awards Red Carpet.  She has definitely raised the bar when it comes to her Fashion and Makeup. This look is the perfect combination of Classic and Trendy!

Her Fuschia/ Hot Pink LipStick stole the show!  Cover Girl Queen Lipstick in Spellbound would be a great match.

She has a slight Smokey-eye and Very Black Winged Eyeliner.  Her eyeshadow look can be achieved with Urban Decay's Naked Palette. To get such a dark winged liner, try adding a Black eyeshadow on top of the eyeliner to intensify the color.

She has a warm color on her cheeks, which is probably Bronzer. Cover Girl Queen Collection Bronzer would be perfect for creating this look.  Her cheekbones and nose are softly highlighted, I'd use Smashbox's Baked Fushion Soft Lights.

I LOVE the Periwinkle Nail Polish! I would use Deborah Lippman's "I know what boys like" and top it with a Forever 21 Nail Polish in the color Frosted Periwinkle to add shimmer.

NOTW: Essie "Wrapped in Rubies"

I've been really LOVING Reds, and Berry colors lately, so I decided to polish my nails with Essie's "Wrapped in Rubies" this week.

Essie "Wrapped In Rubies"

"Wrapped in Rubies" is a Red/Brown color with Gold shimmer.  It goes on Opaque and has a Semi-Gloss finish.

This could have definitely been a one coater, but I used 2 light coats to intensify the color.

Friday Favorites!

My Weekly Favorites!

Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat

This week I've been loving Revlon's Quick Dry Top Coat for my nails.  This top coat dries fast, goes on smooth, and doesn't cause my nail polish to smudge.  I like this top coat over others because it doesn't get sticky  or too thick halfway through the bottle.

Elf Makeup Mist and Set

For my face, I've been loving my Elf Makeup Mist and Set Spray.  It's a setting spray used to help your makeup last longer.  I also use it as a "Refresher" during the day. My face has been really dry and irritated lately, so I've been using this to soothe the dry patches and burning sensation around my nose because it's enriched with Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C and E.

SmashBox O-Glow Intuitive Cheek Color

I used up my tube of SmashBox O-Glow Intuitive Cheek Color this week.  "This intuitive cheek color reacts with your personal skin chemistry to transform from a silky clear gel into the shade you blush naturally."  On my skin, this blush turns a really pretty Red/Berry shade.  I apply it with my fingers and blend it into the apples of my cheeks.

Sonia Kashuk Double Ended Blush and Angled Contour Brush

My favorite Makeup Brush this week has been my Sonia Kashuk Double Ended Blush and Angled Contour Brush from Target.  I used the Angled side a lot this week to apply bronzer to my cheeks and temples.

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Peppermint

To keep my lips moisturized, I've been using my Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in the Flavor Peppermint.  It goes on clear, and leaves a slight cooling sensation on my lips.

L L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani

My most reached for fragrance this week was L L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani.  It has notes like "sparkling green freshness" and "leafy water hyacinth" with additional notes of freesia, pear, violet leaves, jasmine, rose, lily of the valley, sweet pea, orange blossom, frangipani blossom, peach skin, heliotrope and musk.  It's a really subtle scent that I wear year round.  This perfume does not have the greatest staying power, so I always layer it with the L L.A.M.B. Lotion so it lasts longer on my skin.

Have you tried any of these products? What were your Favorite Beauty Products this week?

Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin's MAC Viva Glam 2012 Campaign

Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin have been picked to be the new faces of MAC's Viva Glam 2012 Campaign!

MAC's previous Viva Glam Campaigns have been hugely popular featuring celebrities such as Cyndi Lauper, Naomi Campbell, Missy Elliott, Mary J Blige, Christina Aguilera, Fergie, and of course no one could forget all the hype around Lady Gaga's Viva Glam Lipsticks!
The $14 lipsticks, dubbed Viva Glam Ricky and Viva Glam Nicki, will go on sale in February, benefitting the campaign that has raised $224 million for HIV/AIDS-related causes since launching in 1994.

The two Pop Stars both took to their twitter pages to express their excitement about the campaign:

Ricky expressed a similar statement on his twitter page: "My #MACVivaGlam photo w/ @nickiminaj is on Facebook now. Products out in Feb support the #MACAIDSFund. Kisses and more Kisses. What do u think of this campaign? #UNHATE #Bentton."
