Covergirl Blast FlipStick Lip Duos

Covergirl Blast FlipStick Lip Duo in "Glimmer"

A few weeks ago I decided to do a little shopping at a Walmart that I never usually go to, and I swear that particular location had ALL the new products! (lol).......... Anyway,  I had previously read about the New Covergirl Blast FlipStick Lip Duos so I decided to try one out.

The concept of these Lip Duos sound really cool. One side is a Matte/Cream lip color, and the opposite end is a complimentary Shimmer lip color that can be worn together or separately.  There are 13 different FlipSticks that range in a variety of colors like pinks, corals, reds, and browns.

I picked up the "Glimmer" Flipstick which has a Burgundy/Berry Matte/Cream color on one end, and a Pinkish "Shimmer" color on the opposite end.

My Thoughts:
The good thing about this product is that you basically get 2 REALLY pigmented lip colors for the price of one, but besides that............................... there's nothing else I really liked about it.   I thought that the colors, although pigmented, felt really Heavy and Drying on my lips.  The Matte shade looked dull and boring, and the other shade was more of a Frost than a "Shimmer." I also tried blending the two shades together, but I didn't like the way that looked either.

Overall, I think the concept SOUNDS really good, but it didn't quite work out for me. I like lipsticks that feel Light and Moisturizing, and these are the complete opposite. They remind me of those "old school" lipsticks that felt really thick and smelled like plastic.

Didn't like.

Have you tried them? What do you think?

NOTW: Wet n Wild Mega Last Nail Color "Bite the Bullet"

This week I'm wearing Wet n Wild's Mega Last Nail Color in "Bite the Bullet."  I like this nail polish line A LOT and they're only $1.99 at Walgreens!

Wet n Wild Mega Last Nail Color in "Bite the Bullet"

"Bite the Bullet" is a Dusty Lilac/Lavender Cream with Gray Undertones.  Wet n Wild describes the Mega Last Collection as having 18 sophisticated, classic colors that have a revolutionary resin polymer system that creates exceptional color adhesion to nails.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Balm Review and Swatches

L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Balm "Plush Plum"

Ok, last week I finally got my hands on L'Oreal's New Color Riche Le Balms. I've wanted to try these for a while now, but I had a really hard time finding them at drugstores stores near me.  I ended up finding them at a random Walmart that I hardly ever go to.

Here's L'Oreal's description of the product:
"Provides 8 hours of hydration, lips feel softer, suppler all day. Instantly smoothes lips, protects lips with SPF 15, and provides a hint of color."

The only color that I picked up was "Plush Plum" (which is a Plum/Berry color) because after seeing many swatches on blogs, this was the only one that really caught my attention.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Balm "Plush Plum"

Now of course, a lot of people have been comparing these to the Revlon Lip Butters, which is completely understandable because the packaging is ALMOST identical, but there are a few notable differences:
  • L'Oreal's Le Balms are definitely more Sheer than the Lip Butters, and
  • Le Balms actually feel more like a lip balm than a lipstick, unlike the Lip Butters

L'Oreal Le Balm (left) and Revlon Lip Butter (right)

This has easily become one of my favorite Lip Balms because the formula is so smooth and hydrating.  The color does go on very Sheer, but can definitely be built up for more pigmentation.

Overall, if you're just looking for a really good Sheer, Tinted Lip Balm, then L'Oreal's Color Riche Le Balm would be perfect for you. However, if you're looking for a more Opaque Lip Color that is also Moisturizing you should probably stick with the Revlon Lip Butters.

This or That Beauty Tag!

Happy Holidays! I feel like I've been on a bit of a hiatus during all of the holiday madness, and it'll probably be that way until after the 1st when everything returns back to normal!

Anyway, I love reading Tag posts, and I thought this one looked really fun.

Tag Questions:
Blush or Bronzer:  Definitely Blush. The  only Bronzer I have is my CoverGirl Queen Collection Bronzer in Ebony Bronze. Most Bronzers don't show up on my skin, so I usually just stick with Blushes.  My favorite ones are MAC's Sheer Matte Blushes, and Nyx Powder Blushes.

Lip gloss or Lipstick: Lipgloss! I rarely wear just lipstick on its on because I always have a hard time keeping my lips moisturized. My FAVORITE lipglosses of all time are probably from Revlon's ColorBurst collection because they feel really moisturizing and creamy. When I don't feel like wearing Lipgloss, I'll usually just reach for a Tinted Lip Balm or Lip Butter.

Eyeliner or Mascara: Eyeliner!! I don't wear makeup everyday, but I ALWAYS have on Eyeliner. I don't know what it is, but I look at least 10x better when my eyes are lined with a really black liner. I just recently started using Maybelline's gel liner for my upper lashline, and I LOVE it. I like wearing Milani's Liquif'Eye Metallic black eyeliner on my lower lashline.

Foundation or Concealer: Concealer. Although, I never usually wear either, if I had to choose it would be concealer. When I do wear concealer, I usually use MAC's studio finish, and pair it with my Mineralize Skin Finish in Deep Dark.

Neutral or Color Eyeshadow: Neutral. Wet n Wild's Vanity Palette has been my Favorite Neutral eyeshadow palette this year. I absolutely LOVE this, but I'll have to find a replacement soon because the six pan palettes are being discontinued next summer. Click here for a Full Review and Swatches!

Brushes or Sponges: Brushes. I don't even own any sponges because I hate that they get so messy. Brushes are just way more easy and convenient. Although I must admit, I do REALLY want to try the Beauty Blender that everyone keeps raving about. (lol)

OPI or China Glaze. Well, I actually would prefer Revlon's Top Speed Nail Enamel, but if I had to chose between those two, I would choose OPI. And that's probably just because it's more accessible to me. The only store near me that sells China Glaze is Sally's.

Brights or Darks: I really like Dark Shimmery nail colors

Perfume or Body Splash: Perfume. I usually lean more towards Sugary/Gourmand scents year round. These are some of my favorites. Click Here for my favorite perfumes tag!

Lotion or Body Butter: Lotion. For everyday use I prefer Lotion over Body Butter because it absorbs into the skin more quickly than thick creams.  And I've been kind of OBSESSED with Aveeno's body lotions lately.

Body Wash or Soap: Body Wash. I love to stock up on the sets at Victoria's Secret because they always have great deals, and they lasts a really long time.

The 2011 Kardashian Family Christmas Card

Kardashian Christmas Card 2011

This morning, Kim Kardashian unveiled her family's Annual Christmas Card on her Blog.  And of course, like EVERYTHING else they do, it's really over the top! (lol)
"In the image -- which can also be viewed in 3D with 3D glasses -- the family suits up in their best menswear-inspired ensembles. Save for family matriarch Kris Jenner, of course, who dons a festive teal long-sleeve dress." US Weekly
Check out the pics below:

I really like the Sequin Blazers and Dark Vampy lip colors.

Khloe looks great. Her Tuxedo style pants really pulls her whole look together.

Look at Kourtney and Scott with their matching Bow-Ties. LOVE!  And Mason always looks like a little grown man. (lol)

NOTW: Revlon's "Glitz & Glam"

This week I'm wearing Revlon's "Glitz & Glam" which is part of their Limited Edition Spice It Up Holiday Collection.

Revlon "Glitz & Glam"

"Glitz & Glam" is a Cranberry jelly based nail polish with tons of  Pink and Silver Micro-Glitter.

Revlon "Glitz & Glam"

The color is Sheer at first, due to the jelly base, but I was able to achieve intense, opaque coverage after 2 heavy coats.

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in "Decadent"

Revlon has released a New Limited Edition Holiday Collection called Spice It Up which includes nail polish and 8 new colors of their Colorburst Lipgloss.

The 8 new colors include:
  • Cocktail Dress – Pale shimmery nude/peach
  • Ignite – Bright shimmery orange

  • Chilled – Shimmery white
  • Spice It Up – Shimmery brown/red
  • Decadent – Royal purple with blue shimmer

The color "Decadent" is the only one that really stood out to me because it's so different from any other Lipgloss I own, and the color looks Gorgeous in the tube!

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in "Decadent"

"Decadent" is a beautiful deep Purple color, with Pink and Blue shimmers in it.  It goes on smooth and sheer, but the color can easily be built up for more intensity.

Wish List: Illamasqua "Freak"

I saw the ad for this this fragrance, and was immediately intrigued.

"Freak" is Illamasqua's first fragrance, and is a unisex blend of exotic and unconventional florals.  I usually HATE unisex scents because (in my opinion) they tend to lean more towards the masculine side, and I'm not a fan of masculine scents on my skin at all! But this concoction seems different.

The creator of the fragrance, Azzi Glasser said she wanted to create a sexy, passionate, and distinctive scent so she decided to use "untouched ingredients rather than the same old palette."

Here's Sephora's Blurb about the fragrance:

The rich and daringly provocative opening notes of Black Davana cast a magical spell of desire, while a compelling burnt orange bloom base is highly prized the world over for its ability to enhance the wearer's natural perfume. The subtle muskiness of Poison Hemlock haunts the background tone of Freak, adding alluring depths of mystery. Datura, the Moonflower, has an intoxicating scent that has long been used as a heady aphrodisiac. The exquisitely rare Queen of the Night blooms fleetingly for a single night each year and completes this daringly provocative concoction with its warm, soft floral scent touched with sweetness.

Now I'm curious........  "Freak" is expensive at $90, but the exotic ingredients seem worth the price (I've never even heard of some of these flowers). And I think this fragrance is sold only online at Sephora, but hopefully I can find a sample of it somewhere!

What are your thoughts? Have you tried this yet, or will you?

NOTW: Revlon "Starry Pink"

This week I'm wearing "Starry Pink" from Revlon's Gucci Westman Expressionists Collection.  I really like this color! It reminds me of a snowy winter day, and is unlike anything I have in my nail polish collection.

Revlon "Starry Pink"

"Starry Pink" is a milky, light pink nail polish with regular AND large silver hex glitter. It's smooth to the touch despite having such chunky glitters.

Revlon "Starry Pink"

The formula goes on Milky and Sheer, but becomes Opaque after 2 coats.

Small Drugstore Beauty Haul

Drugstore Haul

These are just a few Beauty Products that I've collected over the past few weeks.

  • Onyx 100% Pure Acetone ($2.49)- I love wearing nail polishes with Sparkle and Glitter, but they're a PAIN to get off! Hopefully this pure acetone makes removal quicker and easier.
  • Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover ($4.64)- I'm finally trying to get my cuticles under control. This is supposed to help break down excess cuticles in seconds, and it contains really good ingredients like Aloe and Chamomile.
  • Revlon Nail Enamel in Starry Pink ($4.99)- I'm really excited to paint my nails with this! I love Revlon's nail polishes.  This is a milky, baby pink color with chunky round silver glitters.
  • Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Decadent ($6.99)- This lip gloss flashes Blue, but in person it's a really pretty Deep Purple color.
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Blackberry ($5.43)- A pretty Deep Red/Burgundy Creme Lipstick.  This is a perfect Fall color.

Apparently I've been Loving Revlon lately.

What's your Favorite Drugstore Makeup Brand?

My Favorite Perfumes Tag

I Love reading Tag Posts, and I thought this was a really cute one.

Here are some of my Favorite Perfumes!

1.  What is your Favorite Winter Scent?  During the Winter months I like wearing really sugary/gourmand scents. (I sneak these in during the summer too. lol)

2.  On a Lazy Day I reach for........... This one is easy. My all time Favorite everyday scent is Philosophy's Amazing Grace Perfume and Body Spray. Click Here for a full review.

3.  What would you use when you're going on a date? Marc Jacobs' Lola is my Favorite night time scent, while Philosophy's Falling in Love is a nice Vanilla and Blackberry scent that would be perfect for a daytime date.

4.  What is your High School signature scent? I honestly don't remember being into fragrances in high school.  That seems like it was such a LONG time ago! (lol) But I remember when I first started college I (and ALL the other Freshmen girls) used Victoria's Secret LoveSpell way too much!

5.  What's your Current Love?  I've been loving my YSL Parisenne Sample.  This is advertised as a fruity/floral scent, but I think it smells like Fresh Grapes on my skin. (I'm sure it's because of the Cranberry in the top notes).

6.  What's your Favorite Summer Scent.  This is so hard to narrow down, but during the summer I usually wear light/fruity fragrances like these:

7.  Name a perfume that you regret buying.  I totally regret buying Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier. It doesn't smell bad, but the scent is just TOO light for me, and it's really generic. However, I think it would be a nice fragrance for a young teenage girl.

8.  What perfume is on your Wishlist? Whew! I have A LOT of perfumes that I can't wait to get, but these are definitely at the top of my list!
